Ryan Arbabi

“Mechanical Properties of Elastomeric Isolators”

Ryan Arbabi is Technical Director at Farrat Isolevel Ltd. As one of less than 200 people worldwide that are qualified to Chartered Engineer status in acoustics, Ryan has more than 10 years of experience working in all manner of acoustics fields.

His specialism is elastomeric vibration isolation and high-performance sound insulation – specifically cinema and performance venues, where he has been involved in the design of over 1000 cinema auditoria and 8 high-profile concert venues.

Ryan sits on the Institute of Acoustics’ editorial board, is the Secretary of the UK Ground Borne Vibration Working Group and has served as session Chairman for the International Institute of Acoustics and Vibration. His published works include scientific papers on; Air-Gap Stiffening including the postulation of the “Long Wavelength Limit”, the application of Substructuring in Transmissibility Prediction, and studies into the Long Term Performance of Natural Rubber in a structural capacity.
